The New York Rangers hired 51-year-old David Quinn to be the team’s head coach, the 35th head coach in franchise history. Quinn comes to the Blueshirts after five seasons as head coach at Boston University. Quinn was reportedly signed to a five-year contract.
Quinn was attractive to the Rangers because of his ability to coach and develop young players. With the team in a publicly-declared rebuilding process, and with the current roster full of young players and prospects, Quinn would seem to be a good fit for this team at this time.
